Ansley Park Minimal

Located on The Prado in the heart of downtown Atlanta, this project involved the comprehensive renovation of a Craftsman Four Square bungalow. The design intent was to transform a dark, compartmentalized interior into a light-filled, cohesive living environment, while bringing clarity and balance to a previously disordered front façade and opening the house to long views at both the front and rear of the site.

Completed in 2024, the 5,000-square-foot renovation was executed by Wes Stone of John Wesley Hammer.  The existing façade was simplified and re-composed through the removal of competing front gables, irregular fenestration, and the off-center front porch. A new offset gable and full-length flat-roof porch provide a unified architectural hierarchy and a more balanced street presence.

Internally, the plan was reimagined to improve spatial flow, increase daylight penetration, and frame views through and out of the house. Interior finishes were choreographed to complement each other and to provide a visual hierarchy that reduces visual clutter and creates a calm, breathtaking living space.
